When I first started my business, a fellow photographer told me that I would have to confidently answer people's questions over and over again about what I do. I was a new business owner that had just earned my BFA in Fine Art Photography, and this small (but vital!) piece of advice gave me confidence to keep going when I needed it the most.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Japan! I would love to experience such a rich and ancient culture (and I also love anime, sushi, etc.). I’ve never been out of the USA, but international travel has always been on my bucket list. I'm hoping to make this happen in the near future!
What is your favorite movie?
It's a tie between the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (yes, all
three of them, and the extended editions obviously!) and Napolean Dynamite.
Gosh!
What are your hobbies, and how did you get into them?
I play piano and am currently working on a Beethoven Sonata at the moment. I was raised by two professional musicians and am married to a professional pianist, so music is a non-negotiable part of my life. Live concerts are my favorite thing to experience! I also cross stitch rude words/sayings and frame the designs for friends and love visiting art museums. I have to use my BFA for something!
Hobbies outside of photography are so important for me to be
the best artist I can be because I can draw inspiration from different sources.
Photography wise, I’ve recently been getting into 35mm film
photography!
What’s your favorite quote from a TV show/movie/book?
"If more of us valued food and cheer and song above
hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.”
- J.R.R. Tolkien
