Giving Back - Donations for Dallas CASA
Dallas CASA volunteer advocates protect children, restore childhood, and help child victims of abuse and neglect achieve their full potential. Dallas CASA envisions a day when all children experience safe and enriching childhoods and grow into strong and capable adults.
EVERY DOLLAR MAKES A DIFFERENCEBecause Dallas CASA focuses on one program and fulfills its mission through its professionally supervised volunteers, raising funds for recruiting, training, supervising and supporting volunteers is the key to Dallas CASA’s ability to serve every Dallas child and young adult in need of an advocate. Dallas CASA actively seeks funding from philanthropic organizations looking to invest in advocacy for the community’s children. The agency’s board of directors and staff remain committed to securing the funds necessary to serve all Dallas County child victims living in protective care. Dallas CASA is an excellent steward of public trust and community resources, with 83 percent of expenses going directly to programming, nine percent to administrative expenses, and seven percent to fundraising expenses (Financial Audit 2023). The role of Dallas CASA and its volunteer advocates is more important than ever as child welfare transitions to the Community-Based Care model which transfers the functions of foster care placement, case management, child and parent service provisioning, and related responsibilities from the state agency to a private contractor. Only 40% of Child Protective Services (CPS) caseworkers transitioned to work for the private contractor, making the role of the Dallas CASA volunteer advocate even more essential. Donation goal
